His background in psychology shapes Brava’s practical, behavioural-science-based approach to improving team performance.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Teaching, and a Certificate in Positive Psychology, and is the author of Game On: How to Create a World-Class Coaching Culture.

Mal Winnie, Associate Consultant

Mal supports the delivery of client projects at Brava, helping organisations improve performance and productivity in frontline and operational teams.

He brings more than 20 years’ experience supporting leaders and managers across the public and private sectors, along with experience working with international-level sports teams.

His practical, behaviour-focused approach is informed by advanced professional certifications in coaching and neuro-linguistic programming.

Vanessa Varela Escobar, Performance Coach

Vanessa supports client delivery by coaching first-line managers to apply practical techniques that improve team performance.

She brings more than 18 years’ experience in consumer sales and service environments, along with extensive first-line leadership experience applying Brava’s approach in practice.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics, Language Teaching and Learning.

Matt Stevenson, Head of Growth

Matt leads Brava’s marketing and business development.

His focus is on starting conversations with senior leaders who want to improve performance across their frontline or operational teams.

Having been with Brava for more than a decade, Matt has a strong understanding of our approach, and how it helps clients improve performance and productivity.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Information Systems and Marketing from the University of Auckland.
